Secrets of Enoch

An ancient Book of Enoch (a/k/a First Enoch) is mentioned and quoted in the Bible. The Book of the Secrets of Enoch (a/k/a Slavonic Enoch or Second Enoch), successfully suppressed (“lost”) in the western world until the 1890s, pertains to the same Enoch, son of Jared, who, it is said: “walked with God and was seen no more” (Genesis 5:18-24), which is understood to mean that Enoch did not die like a mortal but was spontaneously transformed, like the Prophet Elijah who was swept up in a chariot of fire in a whirlwind (2 Kings 2:11). This “book of secrets” predates the gospels; it was reportedly written during or around the time of Jesus of Nazareth. Some theologians have argued that Second Enoch was written by Jesus himself because its key teachings parallel, in part, those of Jesus as presented in the gospel accounts. If Jesus was not the author of Second Enoch then the New Testament (NT) gospel sayings attributed to him were either: independent and synchronistic; pasted-in by NT authors; drawn from a preexisting Second Enoch; or brought forward from ancient Enochian scrolls and paraphrased by Jesus.

Was Jesus author of The Book of the Secrets of Enoch? The book is thought by some scholarly examiners of pseudepigrapha (non-canonical scripture published under a pseudonym) to be the work of one author: Jesus using Enoch’s name to mask that it was his own prose. Others believe it was written before Jesus’ day or long after the New Testament gospels were set down. After conducting a meta-study together with a firsthand examination of the literature, PluribusOne™ concludes that Second Enoch was a group effort overseen by an editor. As we see it, research into secret oral teachings as well as Aramaic scriptures about Enoch was combined with independently developed inspired insights and spirit-guided understandings of Qumran community members (Order of Melchizedek revolutionaries intent on “purifying the Temple”), prepared and circulated in draft, then reconciled and edited by one High Priest—the “Elect One.” This would have served two purposes: to ensure purity of information and sift out the most powerful secrets in order to reveal only select bits of knowledge to the masses, concealing the deepest secrets. In short, we do not conclude that this book was written by one person; therefore, we cannot affirm that Jesus—or any individual—was its author.

Confusion in the matter exists partly because The Book of the Secrets of Enoch—as well as, perhaps, the Book of Enoch—was tampered with after the fact, apparently more than once, beginning about the time the canons of Scripture were set, maybe earlier. We speculate that this occurred as a result of Qumran community members preserving copies of the draft manuscripts rather than destroying them after the final edited manuscript for The Book of the Secrets of Enoch/Second Enoch was adopted. The speculated retention of developmental drafts may have tempted those having Gnostic or Zoroastrian ideas to produce other versions over ensuing centuries as part of holding ground among the forces of Orthodox Christianity, Judaism, and Paganism. Gnosticism did not end with the codification of Christianity or with the Albigensian-Cathar genocide. Consider too: The Book of the Secrets of Enoch has been transliterated and translated as many as three times (from Aramaic to Greek to Slavonic to English), with probable variations among translators each time, just as there are versions of the New Testament.

There is a tendency among scholars to ignore or denigrate Second Enoch and look only to First Enoch, due to the confusion discussed in the foregoing paragraph and because Second Enoch is often mistaken as a version of First Enoch. They are two very different books, of which the second is perceivable as a kind of proto-science upgrade cloaked in similar mystical and metaphorical language. Second Enoch reflects the apocalyptic (revelatory) spirit of the Zadokite (Melchizedek Order) community at Qumran around the start of the Piscean Age. Yet only enigmatic fragments of apocalyptic information found in The Book of the Secrets of Enoch or Book of Enoch, appear in the NT assembled in 325 AD, and Enoch was almost completely suppressed within the following three centuries despite the fact that Enochian literature had influenced the content of the NT more than any other apocryphal (excluded from Bible canon) and pseudepigraphical literature. To this day, most Christians have not heard of The Book of the Secrets of Enoch or, for that matter, the Book of Enoch. Although the Book of Enoch is mentioned in the Bible, all Enochian writings remain heretical.

Because The Book of the Secrets of Enoch does not reveal and explain the deepest secrets—which is consistent with Jesus’ wisdom to not “cast pearls before swine,” a rule that apparently applied even when the pearls took the form of obscure metaphors—the book is misleadingly offered-up as a book of unveiled secrets. It is a book of some partially unveiled secrets. Perhaps another book revealing greater secrets in plainer language will be discovered in the future, or has been known all along by certain initiates. The 22-volume Zohar (The Book of Radiance), which had been held apart from the masses by way of oral teachings passed along to a select few over many generations—unwritten until almost 2,000 years ago and published in English less than two decades ago—contains extracts from and direct references to the Book of Enoch and may constitute that deeper disclosure. To a degree it definitely does, but not in plain language for the most part. And more books may remain buried in the Judean desert or elsewhere in the Middle East, or in some secret library, if they have not been destroyed by weapons of political destruction or in fires of misguided sectarian fanatics.

The Zohar says that Enoch was taken from the earth to become an angel of Elohim, an archangel named Metatron. It also says that the Book of Enoch reveals all of the supernal (higher dimensional) mysteries, the most esoteric secrets, the “one thousand keys,” which Enoch was assigned to deliver to those who merited them (if so, the Book of Enoch presently available to the public is not “complete and unabridged”). The Zohar clarifies that the Book of Enoch was given to Enoch by Elohim (a word that means both “God” and “gods”). Although Enoch served as scribe, the true author of the Book of Enoch is Elohim, and it is our conclusion that Elohim is also the muse-like author of The Book of the Secrets of Enoch. “Elohim” is, in the parlance of Noetitek™: Source Energy Awareness (SEA) as well as the spectrum of expressive foundational energies emergent from out of SEA and of which all things were and are made.

It is exciting to see that certain decoded revelations in The Book of the Secrets of Enoch perfectly match discoveries we made during the early years of developing and applying the Noetitek™ system. Noetitek™ is based on creational (Elohim-correspondent) principles, and the latest match-ups affirm once again that our system is able to foster breakthroughs that reveal answers to ages-old questions regarding Mind and Time and Space without having to rely on excavating “lost” data from shards of ancient sacred manuscripts. Although seeking truths through such manuscripts is indispensable in a search for greater understanding of the coevolution of religion and tribal enculturation, it is not necessary in order to apprehend the composition of universal metaphysical reality and discover the keys to its functioning while continually expanding a grasp of pathways and purposes of everlasting Life in Omniverse.

Details of PluribusOne™’s discoveries must be withheld until we can establish a school through which parties sufficiently interested can gain an in-depth knowledge of Noetitek™ and receive training in its application.
